The Start of Logic Faith and Society
Introduction
There are moments where the divine meets the logic. We were asked, thousands of years ago to have a blind faith, to believe in the Virgin Birth, to believe in the relam of mystery. As our society and knowledge evolve and we began to search for truth aboce faith alone, we come to a stange crossroads of society, faith and logic. Where does a belief in a higher being fit into a world of science? How can I reconcile my understanding of the world through science and have it reside side by side with a faith in th eunknown, that true leap of faith? CS Lewis had sought to reconcile that, philosphers offered their insight into the human condition, religious scholars have conceded science but not yet universal truth. Big bang, evolution, intelligent design, Hand of God....chaos amid serenity? To which offers is truth? To which offers us solace? To which offers us an insight into humanity? Are we merely a collection of atoms and particles floating in an endless universe of atoms, sub-atoms and such. Are are we touched by the Hand of the Divine? Are we merely the end result of one celled oragnisms so many eons ago? Or perhaps what makes us truly divine is that we attempt any kind of resolution, attempt to answer these questions. Are we made in the image of God or is God made in the image of ourselves? Are is our image a result of natural selection as Darwin so described?
We can cannot yet begin to answer any of the questions let alone, hyothize the end result or even do a cause and effect until we describe 4 very important words. Truth, perception, absolute and faith. All four words relate to one another, all four words are needed to decribe the condition of faith and logic and the resulting impact on society. We cannot begin to question the human condition till we first establish those four words and establishing what exactly is the human condition.
Hopefully this series of blogs will give us all a better sense of ourselves, society and faith...and not just faith id God but just random everyday faith in general.
